The dialogue is the instruction you hear our certified Bikram Method Yoga instructors speak during class which allows you to fully and safely benefit from each posture in the series. Bikram developed the dialogue and every certified instructor has been taught the words, meaning and the importance of each word. It is considered a dialogue even though only the teacher speaks because the students respond by moving their bodies as directed and described. The dialogue is a thorough and efficient tool in communicating how to do each posture while keeping your mind focused and engaged. It gives you all the instruction you need to do each posture the right way, with the most benefits, within a specific time frame. By regularly hearing the same dialogue, over time, you will learn to turn off your conscious mind and allow your subconscious mind to hear what it needs in order to execute the pose to the best of your ability, today.  ‚Äč

why the same dialogue?

Always consult with your physician, but most women can practice Bikram Hot Yoga when they are pregnant. If you've never tried Hot Yoga, wait until the end of your first trimester to start. If you have a regular practice, keep it up! A regular hot yoga practice can make your pregnancy and labor easier than you expect. Learning how to breathe when you are in an uncomfortable position in the yoga studio can be an invaluable tool in the labor room. Our teachers are trained to provide modifications and alternate poses for you during beginning yoga class. Rajashree Choudhury, developed a pregnancy-modified Yoga class: "Rajashree's Yoga For Pregnancy" on DVD and we recommend it for all of our pregnant yogis.

what if I'm pregnant?

Practice often and consistently ... everyday if possible. Think of it as part of your regular, daily hygiene. The heat will help break up lactic acid buildup on your muscles to reduce soreness you may experience from your first few classes. Taking classes close together rather than long breaks in between may help you achieve the results you're looking for much sooner and gain maximum benefit. If you really want to know how this yoga will benefit you, come as frequently  as possible within your first 30 days and see for yourself! Wendy recommends practicing every day for the first 60 days!

how often should i practice?

Bikram Method Yoga is designed for the beginner ... all the postures are beginning postures and you do not have to be flexible to practice them. As you practice, you will build strength which will help you develop flexibility, which will help you gain strength, which will help you become more flexible. It doesn't matter what your physical condition is to start with, you will improve!
